Re: uninstall linux 6.0

I've done it this way.

FIRST BE SURE to create a Windows Rescue Diskette as you didn't say which
boot manager you were using and if you were using lilo, when you remove the
Linux partition you may well leave the system unbootable.

TEST THE WINDOWS RESCUE DISKETTE.

Boot up from the Red Hat install CD. Keep going till you get to choose
expert then the partitioning utility. You can delete the Linux and Swap
partitions there. Cancel the install at that point. If you don't have the
Red Hat disks any Linux install disk will do.

Try to reboot the machine. This is where you may need the Windows Rescue
Diskette. If you have to use the Rescue Diskette, you will need to repair
your boot sector. Boot from the Rescue Diskette, CD to C: , and type
fdisk/mbr

If nothing happens then try going back to A: and type the same thing, as I
really don't remember which it is.

As I was typing this I realized, what are you gaining by removing the Linux
partition. If you don't have access to the Partition Magic Rescue Disks,
which would make removing the partition a snap, what do you intend to do
with the empty space?
