GCC Link Error/Shared Objects

Hi,

I've started development on an application (C++) using Taroon and I'm 
getting the following error when linking a small shared object with a 
main program :-

/usr/bin/ld: TestException: hidden symbol `__dso_handle' in 
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2.3/crtbegin.o is referenced by DSO

The link line is
g++  -L. -g -lpthread  -o TestProgram  Exception/TestProgram.o -lMySharedLib

Web searches indicates this maybe a problem with binutils.

The program compiles fine under Redhat 9.

Any help would be much appreciated,
