   It doesn't, but the Slackware installer will partition. I now have it
doing a check for bad sectors on sda1 and that forced a real formatting. I
also shrunk the size to 200G (plenty of room) and the checking formatting
should resolve the problem. Of course, it's been running more than an hour
now, and I expect the 299G sda3 to run all night checking for bad blocks as
ext3 is put on it. Fine by me; I'll be sleeping.
