kmail quirks

Hey all, 

Anyone know of a trick to force kmail to always staying ONline? 

using dodgy mobile coverage sometimes, and the first time kmail cant
connect it throws itself offline rather than retrying - not ideal if
you're waiting for important emails in the evening, only to find out it
arrived 3 hours earlier but you missed it since kmail went offline :) 

There is no obvious front-end method, so was hoping someone knows of a
backend trick?
