Ok that#s the better position for update_rpms.

Can you assure that there is no syntax error in the sys.tcf where 
SYS_UPDATE_RPM_LOCATION is defined ??

update_rpms uses -F (freshen ) not -U (upgrade). If none of such rpms in 
SYS_UPDATE_RPM_LOCATION is installed on the system, update_rpms won't do 
anything :-(
