when excatly does that error-msg apears, when making-bootdisk or when 
installing on the client ? When runnig on installation the files are normaly 
checked out to /tmp/alice at thet moment evet the home for root is set to /
(it took me a while to figure out, why an automatic login was not possible 
when using cvs to get the files to the client.
