We have running following system (w/ no problems at all (shutdown and restart work fine!)): SuSE Linux 7.2, Kernel 2.4.13-4GB Lotus Domino 5.0.9 (first setup was a minor release!) To solve the setup problem, I've replace the JVM files with IBM JRE-118 Release 5.0 from this package: IBMJava118-JRE-1_1_8-5_0_i386.rpm To install this package, I've used the tool, Lotus provided for this purpose: ../lotus/bin/notesjre (JAVA replacment tool!). I never heard it here, so I guess, maybe you should try to use this tool to replace the JAVA files.
