I've been waiting to see how others fare with the centos conversion before
I attempt converting my main box.

I've converted an old laptop from tao4 to centos and it seemed to work ok,=
=20
but I hadn't done much to it since it was installed.

My main box was an upgrade from tao1 to tao4, and since becoming tao4
has had yum modified to support the protectbase plugin, and a couple of
other repositories added.

What I haven't figured out from the postings I've seen, and what I'm not
smart enough to figure out for myself, is if those changes in the yum
configuration I've made will have any negative impact on the centos
conversion.=20

I know just enough about yum to be able to run it from the commandline
after diligent reading of the man page. As to how it works, or why
it works that way, I'm completely clueless, so I must ask for your
indulgence!

Advice would be greatly appreciated.
