Hi, I'm trying to create new server and use RAID1 with motherboard Intel S875WP1-E. I know that it's a fake RAID but mirroring is enough for my purposes. What have I done: 1) updated BIOS to patch level 18 (newest) 2) added Sataraid also the newest version from Intel site 3) created array with two Samsung 80GB Sata IDE disks 4) started Tao 3 installation, and then Installation asks drivers for disks, first it asks ata_piix driver for SCSI and hangs. So I have created eg. drivers from Intel site for RH9 but when I try to select that, I think that installation doesn't select it or know the driver disk(ette). I'm also using KVM switch, might it cause some problems (I've read the previous emails of KVM problems), but this doesn't feel to be the problem. When I get to the page where partition should be done, both automatic and Disk Druid will kill the installation and nothing is done. Questions: 1) What have I done wrong or how should I continue ? - drop that array ? - forget the RAID1 - wait for Tao 4 to get new drivers Please, if You have some experiences or links into the topic, You would make me very, very happy.
