MATE on LTSP thin client - still login problems :-(

A while ago Alkis made this patch:

but sometimes users still get an error like this:

failed to connect to socket /run/user/5214/bus connection denied
could not aquire name on session bus

and can not login to mate desktop.

I choose "login to xterm" and get the same error when I try to start
"mate-session" from the xterm.

after doing
unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
(in xterm)
I was able to start mate-session!

I assume that in the user's home or in /tmp there is some outdated
information about the dbus connection that has to be removed.

In earlier tests I noticed that a reboot of the server helped.

I'm looking for a way to fix this whithout reboot.
