nautilus seems to work ok enough for me. there is a file manager called
gentoo (as in the distro). i also like xftree that came bundled with xfce.


a while back on the LUG mailing list, a lot of praise was heaped on a FM
called "rox" if i remember correctly. i've never used it, but it may be what
you are looking for.
