Hello Before asking in the ml, I checked the FAQ but found no entry. I tried searching Gmane's archives, but it currently says "You don't have permission to access / on this server." I just installed Smartmontools on Windows 7 through Smartmontools-win (www.netpower.fr) and am learning about how to use Smartmontools. I opened a DOS box with Admin rights, but apparently, smartclt.exe won't run the short self-test: ================= c:\Program Files\smartmontools for Windows\bin>smartctl -H /dev/sda smartctl 6.2 2013-07-26 r3841 [i686-w64-mingw32-win7-sp1] (sf-6.2-1) Copyright (C) 2002-13, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org Read SMART Thresholds failed: Function not implemented === START OF READ SMART DATA SECTION === SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED ================= c:\Program Files\smartmontools for Windows\bin>smartctl -t short /dev/sda smartctl 6.2 2013-07-26 r3841 [i686-w64-mingw32-win7-sp1] (sf-6.2-1) Copyright (C) 2002-13, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org === START OF OFFLINE IMMEDIATE AND SELF-TEST SECTION === Sending command: "Execute SMART Short self-test routine immediately in off-line mode".
