On a related note, I wish there were some way to make ASDF on windows
somehow able to grok the soft links that cygwin builds. Working with
people who use windows boxes, I had the experience that they would try
to make ASDF work by setting up soft links using cygwin, and then be
confused when those soft links didn't work. Of course, this happens
because the lisp is not using cygwin. That said, I confess to not
knowing enough about Windows to know whether this is even feasible --- I
don't know what, if any, intelligible marks cygwin makes in the windows
filesystem.

I just mention this as something that I think would help those of us who
write portable, asdf-based CL applications on Unix variants be able to
make them useful to people on Windows.

Best,
Robert
