Security is a big concern also since such facilities provides another
door for attacks.

For example, a "premium" archive service that allows list admins to
customize archives and perform other admin operations.  Since providing
such features increases the operational costs for site admins, along
with increased risk to security, those who want it should pay for it.

Such services should only be worth considering if there is enough
demand for it.  If you only a few people are interested in such
services, the cost of developing them may be too high.  My gut says
that most people that use mail-archive.com, and other similiar sites,
are not interested in spending money.  Those that have money to spend
are more in likely to establish their own archives on systems they
directly control.
