I assume ezmlm is either adding a Reply-To: header to messages, or 
replacing the existing From: header (or both).  You have not told us 
which of these it is doing, although "no mention of the human sender" 
suggests that maybe the From: header is being replaced.

Neither is default ezmlm behavior, but either is easy to do (or undo) 
via the headeradd and headerremove files in the list directory. 
Remove the lines from those files which are causing the undesired 
behavior.
