It requires some work but it should not be very difficult. Courier actually  
has a sysv init script, and what really happens is that a systemd unit file  
gets installed that runs "courier.syvinit start" and "courier.sysvinit stop"  
(and "courier-authlib.sysvinit start/stop" in the courier-authlib package).

These kinds of things are always a question of supply/demand. If there's not  
enough Debuan user base to result in someone deciding to go ahead and put  
some elbow grease in this, then that's what it is.
