Jamm dovecot ldap problem

Hi,
i'm new to jamm, i've been trying to get jamm dovecot ldap and postfix
working together, i've got everything installed but there are not working
perfectly together, i went through a tutorial religiously step by step i
have the following problems

1. cant seem to change passowrds via jamm, it always says an error has
occured i don't know where jamms log files can be located to elaborate
more

2. can't login via squirellmail, i check /var/log/mail log i get this answer

 dovecot-auth: ldap(user at domain): No password in reply

what does this mean ???
