Keith,

	Thank you very much.  You hit the nail on the head.  I was unaware that 
RHEL came with 2 different versions of java.  Modifing Tomcat to run 
with the Sun Java/JDK fixed the issue.

          One last question, can Jamm connect via ldaps?  I have not 
seen in the documentation where Jamm can (or can not) use ldaps?
