Though my email address says "tech," I'm not much of a techie. But I would
like to offer a few comments.

A release would be great for Mj2.

I use the Ensim control panel and frequently visit and use their forums
(http://forum.ensim.com). There are tens of thousands of folks using Ensim.
Ensim offers Majordomo 1.94.5 as part of its installation, but people have
been begging for a few years now, at least, for something different.

It isn't that Mj1 is bad! I host domains running probably several hundred
lists now, and most of them are Mj1. It's great for simple lists, and
especially for folks who have never done any listkeepering before. But I
love Mj2 for complex stuff. Sadly, I think I'm about the only one who's
figured out how to install Mj2 on Ensim-run servers -- and I'm nowhere near
being server-savvy. I've posted a how-to in the Ensim forums, but I must
have gotten something wrong because others who try it don't have much luck.

The main reason more people aren't using Mj2, as has been noted, is it's
almost impossible to find, and those who do find it think that it's not yet
suitable for a production enviornment. Plus, "Mailman" is everywhere so
that's the word people most often use. People want that web interface.
Otherwise Mj1 would be just fine for most lists. And, being somewhat
familiar with Mailman, it seems to me Mj2 is far superior in many, many
ways.

I'd bet that if someone, anyone with even a bit more technical knowledge
than me, would contact Ensim, or register in their forums and provide a
little help, the Mj2 community would increase many hundreds of times over,
very quickly. (As you probably know, cPanel and Plesk already include
Mailman with their products.)

Enough out of me.
