NEOMAIL ERROR "Can't create your user directory!"

Hello,

I had the error with MD5 (. Re: "password incorrect" error - MD5 ) so I 
decided to keep perl 5.6 and reinstall neomail. It fixed the problem.

Now I get this new problem:

NEOMAIL ERROR  "Can't create your user directory!"

I noticed one similar error to this in the sourceforge neomail list; 
but, there wasn't a proposed fix to the problem. It may be a simple 
config problem with the mail server; however, I have used the same 
config file from the last time it worked.

The mail directory is
/var/spool/mail/[username]

I use sendmail and have added Tapache as a trusted user.

Are my permissions correct?
