I have added the following :) .pinerc and in /etc/pine.conf file to read the German special :) Characters (Ex : Ü) :) :) ~/.pinerc :) :) character-set=ISO-8859-1 It depends on the terminal emulator too. For example, the gnome terminal can be set to utf-8, and in that case, your Ü will not be displayed correctly, but when I set the terminal to Western iso-8859-1, it gets displayed correctly.
