It was correctly pointed out to me that instructions that only cover
piping the output of a "curl" command directly to a shell (even as a
non-root user) look a bit dodgy.  If that's not your cup of tea, more
traditional installation methods are described at:

    https://www.haskell.org/ghcup/install/
    https://www.haskell.org/ghcup/install/manual/#manual-installation

though ultimately, one way or another, you're still obtaining an
executable from a remote source.  FWIW, also:

  - Fedora 43 has "ghc9.10-devel" and "ghc9.12-devel" meta packages
    that can obviate the need for "ghcup", and make it possible to
    build "ghcup" from source.

  - For MacOS "ghcup", "[email protected]" and "[email protected]" are available via
    "homebrew".

I'll amend the README to cover the more traditional Haskell compiler
toolchain installation methods.
