Hi Vicki, > I have someone who sent me three pieces of mail today. Each was confirmed. He > is STILL not in my whitelist. What's going on? That is an unusual problem. Can I see your ask.log file? > What have I missed in turning things on or setting permissions? > I configured an initial whitelist; I'm a bit confused as to whether this > should be stored in whitelist.txt or in whitelist-local.txt The only reason why you have more than one file for the whitelist is that to avoid write conflicts. If you write to whitelist.txt directly, extra care is needed, as someone may happen to confirm while you have the file loaded in your editor. So, the rule is: Leave whitelist.txt to ASK and, if you need to manually add addresses, edit whitelist-local.txt. > In any case, ASK didn't add my correspondent and he's been getting... > twitchy. He's begun to believe that I am blocking all of his email :( Again, I need to see the logfile, and, if possible, your .askrc file.
