It makes a difference if you want to get your mail delivered to a System,
which
uses envelope data only for making decisions, if a mail should be rejected
or accepted.
 
Example:
If the recipient System is an UCEPROTECT-Server, and your System or settings
do not match
the requirements to be accepted, you get a NDR which tells you why your mail
was rejected, and how
you can whitelist your emailadress.
 
If you go to the Whitelist - Page and enter [email protected] it will cause
your mail will get throu
if your envelope-from reflects that.
But if your Envelope-From is [email protected], and your User does not know
that, whitelisting
[email protected] will not work for you ....
 
And: UCEPROTECT is not the only System which uses envelope data for making
decisions ....
 
Having the possibility that a sender can enter his emailadress is the only
way to get still accepted,
if for. e.G. the Network with the Sender machine is blacklisted or something
else your sender
can not change ....
 
SRS makes that also impossible for senders .... thats the consequence of
faking envelope datas ...
And it is one more reason why SRS really sucks...
