There seems to be a problem with Mailbox names containing non-US-ASCII
characters (the "î" in your case).

As a workaround you can edit the .sylpheed/folderlist.xml manually and
replace the offending characters in the "name" field by harmless ones
(e.g. use "Boites aux..." or "Inbox"). Close Sylpheed before the change.

A real fix will follow.

Doesn't happen here - I hope we find a way to reliably reproduce it.
Some points you might watch when it happens again:
* If it happenend, does selecting a different mail and then reselecting
  the old (damaged) one retrigger the bug?
* Does it only happen to certain mails (e.g. with attachments, POP or
  IMAP, specific foldername)?
* Did Sylpheed check for mail while the problem occurred?
