    As of FreeBSD 11, there have been many reports of BDB failing
(especially with Amavisd-New and Maia-Mailguard.) I'm not sure if anyone
else running Maia on non-BSD systems are experiencing this issue or not,
though. While I'm uncertain what the exact issue is, the "fixes" for
this are to either disable BDB in the maiad.conf file (ex: $enable_db =
0;) or use the Redis database instead of BerkeleyDB. The second option
would be best if there is a lot of mail being processed. However, at
this time, I believe this is only possible with Amavisd-New and not
Maia-Mailguard since the support for Redis to added to Amavisd-New after
original Maia (based on Amavisd-New) was created. Perhaps this could be
fixed in future releases? Try the first option of disabling the use of
BDB and see if it resolves your issue. I hope this helps!
