Yes - after some number of failed connection attempts, Zoe just gives
up. (Don't know exactly how many failed tries it takes, but check the
list archives, this has been discussed in the past few weeks.)

I agree, would be nice if this were shown on a prominent location...
Email probably wouldn't work, when the user can't access the email
server in the first place, and just "dropping" a message in the mail
index doesn't sound right...
