Unread Messages

Hello,
   I've been using ZOE for two days, and have searched the general and 
devel mailing lists to no avail - is there some way to search for or 
display only unread messages? I looked a bit into the search engine 
syntax and noticed one can search by field. Is there a specific field I 
should search by?
