It's the beauty, indeed. But since my mail server (not controlled by me) also
filters mail, and is quite aggressive at that, I have more mis-positives
than usual. I therefore prefer to err on the safe side and get the spam
anyway. It's filtered (in my email client) to a spam folder, so I can look
through it from time to time.

Could you tell me how you do this? You mean using telnet or something like that?
How do you "re-send" the message on the server? With Pine or something
like that?

My email client does allow me to examine my POP data on the server, and
re-retrieve a message (or to delete one on the server) if I want. But
it's my understanding that messages on a POP server don't really have a
"read/unread" or "retrieved/not-yet-retrieved" status flag.

When I mark a message on the server back to "unread", e.g., it's
actually my email client that "remembers" which message is now "unread"
and will re-get it next time. So if I mark message A as unread in Becky
(my normal email client), and then check mail in Thunderbird (the one
I'm trying), Thunderbird would not re-get message A, if it has gotten it
earlier. Same if I use Becky on another computer.

That's why I said I didn't know how you could tell Zoe to re-retrieve a
message.

It may well be, if I don't have that many messages stored on my server.
At the moment, I don't delete messages from the server for I'm
contemplating switching email client, and my Zoe setup isn't finalized
yet (have to reset Zoe and re-get all the messages now and then).

But anyway, thanks for sharing back.
