The father of the girl (& husband to the mother) is a co-worker of mine -- he's in a different department, but in my previous role I did a couple small jobs for him. He's a great guy, active with Big Brothers. Another co-worker said that last they'd heard the mother is still in rough shape so she hasn't been told of her daughter's death. No idea what their religious beliefs might be, but I believe prayers should be offered regardless. I don't have any idea what I should say the next time I see him. Probably something simple like "sorry" or "my condolences" and then keep my mouth shut. Grace Wynen died Sunday. The girl had been taken to hospital Oct. 22 after the car she was in collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Maryhill Road and Crowsfoot Road around 9 p.m. Waterloo Regional Police say the girl was in a 2004 Toyota with her mother at the time and that they were heading west on Crowsfoot Road. The car had stopped for a two-way stop sign at the intersection at Maryhill Road and then proceeded to move ahead. The car was struck by a 1997 Ford pickup truck. The mother, 41, is still in hospital. The 25-year-old Maryhill driver of the truck was initially charged with two counts of driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system but those charges are now expected to be upgraded. -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
