Wait a minute.  She had a choice on whether to respond or not but those putting
her in the headlines don't have a choice?  That's a little unfair donchathink?
 
No one forced Kos, MSNBC, the NYT's, etc. to make this story about her at
all,yet they did.  And she gets blamed for the focus of the headlines?

You know what, I agree with you she made the wrong speech.  She should have been
much shorter:
 
''To those of you who linked me to this shooting - FUCK YOU!"   And then she
could have given interviews on it and when asked about it say:  "What didn't you
understand - the fuck or the you?"

I can understand the President having a flag there for his addresses to the
country. She doesn't represent the country. Right now, she doesn't even
represent her state. But I've never been a huge 'wrap yourself in the flag' guy
anyway, so (right or wrong) I'm consistent with my preferences.

She had 4 paragraphs lamenting the shooting.  Were they bad?  What about the
final two calling for the nation to come together?  Bad also?

I admit I found it humorous that she was pleading for the nation to come
together, and in doing so achieved the opposite. Again, I'm not a Sarah-hater. I
just now what works for me, and what doesn't, and this speech didn't work for
me.

Of course, she had a choice. She had the ability to let her Saturday FB comments
speak for themselves and otherwise stand pat. The whole thing would have blown
over almost immediately. Now, she's kept the focus largely on her to the
