I just find it hard to square his "abortion" comment with Johne's speculative defense of the guy as someone who maybe isn't simply "being contrary and get[ting] off on frustrating others". And remember, White's comment wasn't simply directed at a filmmaker, it was directed at *one of his fellow New York critics*.
