Once again, punishing bad behavior?

That, is all I am suggesting is "preachy.  Owning a gasoline car is not bad
behavior.

Bottom line, I already pay a consumption tax on my gas.  I accept that.
But, why should my gas taxes make the roads safer for the electric vehicle
who uses the same roads while he is also getting an annual tax incentive?

Oh now, I was only being cavalier about it if my conditions were met:

1. All transportation taxes are being used to maintain infrastructure 2.
There is not enough revenue from said taxes to maintain infrastructure

There is plenty of wiggle room in there to argue there *is* enough revenue,
it's just being used inefficiently. ;)

My main points (lost in all the preachiness evidently) were:

(a) I want transportation to pay for transportation. I don't want govt to
subsidize transportation from other areas, and I don't want transportation
to subsidize other areas.

(b) If we need to raise transportation revenue, just raise gas tax rather
than try to implement mile tax.
