I don't disagree, which is why I think that the process they use to
determine when to raid and what level of force to bring is open for scrutiny
and complaint.

He worked in a *mine*, so I'd say he lived by a pick. What we're saying here
is that he still died by the sword, even though he wasn't attacking with it.
Simply owning a sword shouldn't mean you should die by one. This is a
fundamental change in law enforcement, and I rank it right up there with the
privacy freedoms we've lost at the airport at the sweaty hands and groping
fingers of the TSA.
