Even though the "random" email was pretty easy to crack, it is even easier for someone to just know it. Since it is not typically treated as a password, it could be stored many places and on many devices as plain text. So it is a security fail on many levels. Maybe, a little brilliant for making the service super easy to use. But it was asking to be abused.
