>Should we feel compelled to comfort the families of drunk drivers? If anybody must mourn, I'd prefer those families than the families of innocents killed by drunk drivers. And all it would have taken to avoid anybody mourning was either a) a little self control on the part of the driver not to get behind the wheel, or b) friends strong enough to know they shouldn't cave and take his keys. If Bam Margera was that great a friend, where was he the night that Dunn got behind the wheel of that Porsche?< Wow, just wow. You don't think these are questions that everyone there are asking themselves? Do you think they really need Ebert, or you, pointing that out to them and/or pointing it out to them now. If Dunn was driving and had been drinking, (even if he hadn't), don't you realize that all of the questions will be asked and most likely prosecuted criminally and/or civilly? >Sorry. I know you have a thing against Roger, but he has a sharp mind (the half a face thing was a shot that was beneath you, frankly). < I don't have a think against Ebert, actually I'd never think of him if you guys weren't all such fan boys. When confronted with such adoration I'll cop to a bit of a reactionary streak, particularly when I don't see the goods to back up the adoration. And the half face thing was meant to shock - and make a point. Saying something true is not an absolute defense. I'm not really concerned what you think is beneath or above me, just as you probably aren't concerned that I think your fanboy driven defense of Ebert is beneath you. >No, Roger's not the villain, here. He may be an a$$hole, but he's not wrong, and there is a utility to what he posted. Spouting off about this punctures the allure of celebrity and reminds us that anybody who drives drunk is (it's appropriate on multiple levels) a jackass.< Yeah, the fiery crash and death weren't enough of a reminder. We really needed Ebert's two cents. Mike F.
