Hi DC,
First, you need to explain what Mode are you in and what page you
are on? If you are in "COMBI" or "PROG", you need to make sure that
the "ON/OFF" and "LATCH" (see Basic Guide p6 #8) are on (lit red). If
they are, then hitting a "CHORD TRIGGER" or a note below C4 (midddle
C) should activate the KARMA modules. The tempo is already set. You
do not need to set this to activate the KARMA. Try this in Combi A000
Voice of Karma. If you still get nothing, then it's possible that you
have AUTO KARMA turned off in the GLOBAL settings. To fix this, hit
the GLOBAL button and when the menu opens for the "Basic" tab F1, you
should "AutoKARMA" at the right. Make sure that the boxes
beside "Program" and "Combiz' are filled in with a check mark. Now go
to combi or program mode and try again.

Have you read the BASIC GUIDE beginning pages? You need to do this
working right at the Karma. Otherwise you are going to stumbling
blindly.

As for setting up the SEQUENCER, the simplest method is as follows:
1. Go to any Program or Combi. Do not start playing keys or activating
Chord Triggers yet.
2. Hold down ENTER and REC/WRITE at the same time. A menu pops up.
3. Under the "Are you sure?", hit "OK" F8.
4. A new menu opens and you should hear the Metronome ticking. The
REC/WRITE button should be red and the START/STOP button should be
green. You are now in SEQUENCER MODE.
5. Do not start playing yet. Now hit the START/STOP button to start
recording. You should get a 2 bar count in from the Metronome.
6. Once the count in has finished and the song position begins to
count forward, you can start playing or activating the chord triggers.
7. Pressing START/STOP will stop the recording and return the song
position to 000.
8. Pressing START/STOP will play back what you recorded.

Once again, I suggest to all newcomers to read the tutorials, the Easy
Start doc in the Files section here and to go trough these and the
BASIC START GUIDE right at the Karma. The information is there. You
need to do this before you venture further into your Karma.

Cheers,
Eric,
