  I've just returned from a 5 month wintering, so I'm still in the 
process of getting things back in order.  Glad you are rediscovering 
your Karma.  It's still a fantastic instrument and workstation.
   Now, as for GEs, they are truly a great invention of Stehpen Kay. 
There is nothing out there like KARMA technology. Having spent the 
last 4 + years developing combi collections for the Karma, I can 
tell you that KARMA technology is not for the faint hearted.  In 
fact there are only two of us on the planet who are still actively 
engaged in developing "Karma-fied" combis for the Karma - Paul 
Osborn (Chemistry etc.) and myself (EJ2 - Double EJ Projects).  Add 
to that, the paucity of free downloadable "Karma-fied" combi 
collections, and you wonder why.  The truth of the matter is that 
there is just too much to deal with.  It's more involved than trying 
to play 3 dimensional chess.  And the software MW, doesn't make it 
any easier.  The difference is that you get to visualize various 
aspects of KARMA rather than poking around with buttons and menus 
from a small display screen on the Karma.  Strangely enough, the 
latter is what I prefer to use when I am designing combis.
   Though Paul has published his "Combi Creation" tutorial and I, my 
simple drum, bass, and lead combi mini-tutorial (in the files 
section here), it is not enough to really get one seriously involved 
in developing fully Karma-fied combinations for the Karma complete 
with functional RTC, K-RTCs, SWs, Scenes, IFX, MFX, JS-X/Y, Chord 
Triggers etc. etc. etc.  It takes years of patience and practice, 
day after day...and you never stop discovering something else to add 
to your pallette of techniques.
   As for MIDI signal out to control other gear, you have that 
function already onboard the Karma.  You need to make the Karma the 
master and other equipment the slave.  You also need to decide 
whether you want the MIDI to be internal or external or both.  All 
the GE assignments are given MIDI channels, so you can direct these 
out.  The problem becomes one of matching or selecting appropriate 
sounds (patches, programs etc.) to be driven by these arps on 
steroids.  To be sure there is much more involved and I would 
suggest that you take these questions over to Karma Lab Forums 
(KLF).  That's Stephen Kay's BB and all the veteran users are over 
there.  If you haven't already registered there, you need to 
pronto.  It have tons more support than here and it is much more

   Finally, no Karma based equipment or software has audio in.
