Hey - go easy on yourself there! This was my fault - there was a nasty bug in 1.1 that would sometimes cause the player's firmware and/or configuration to get corrupted. A flash update would almost always fix it, but sometimes not (I've had to mail out a few replacement PIC chips in those cases). I'm glad that re-flashing the player fixed the problem. I'm pretty sure that the firmware corruption bug is now fixed in V1.2, but not enough people are using 1.2 yet to be 100% sure. :) Sean On Wed, 6 Feb 2002, Randy Roy wrote: > Sean, > > Using DHCP gave me the same results. > > New firmware fixes the problem. > > Without thinking too critically, I mistakenly assumed that I needed IP connectivity to flash the firmware. > > If you were to cut and paste from firmware_update.pl to the site the fact that the bootloader will advertise it's MAC address you might prevent half-wits like me from pestering you before they tried to upgrade the firmware...Sorry to bother you. > > Thanks.
