Still searching for a better Solution

In previous messages I have noted that BNR2 is unstable if more than
500-600 thousand new
headers are downloaded at one time. I may not know what I want to
download until after I look at the messages. If I use NZB files than I
would not have to download as many headers. I have been using Xnews
these last few years. A very good program except it is really not
designed to handled multiple connections. I like the shortcuts and
multiple connections that BNR2 offer. I just wish it had the ability to
download say 200,000 messages at a time and then when I hit refresh it
would retrive the next block of OLDER MESSAGES instead of only
downloading new messages. I have tried to explain how Xnews accomplishes
this. Xnews has the ability to download a set "n" number of
messages to retrieve either by startating at the beginning (the most
earliest dates) of messages or closer to the ending amout of
headers(that are represented by the latest dates). Here is a link that I

have been able to find is after the intial download of messages is
a refresh option that ONLY DOWNLOADS NEW HEADERS.  I know I have read
and re-read the manual several times. I tried the kill/want filters and
the only thing that was accomplished is that it highlighted those
messages but did not filter out the other messages I did not need.  BNR2
may not have this ability. I am still working within it's limitations
but it would be a more productive product.
