That looks almost like my setup. The only differences are that I use
fewer options and export the root filesystem directly, but your exports
should be fine.

What has been bugging me for days is that I _think_ I saw your NFS
error before, but cannot remember precisely... might be due to NFS
version mismatches or file locking, but DQMOT. Those could be fixed
with additional NFS parameters on the kernel command line. Just give
'nolock' a try for starters, to rule that out quickly. 

You mentioned that you are able to boot the system from a harddisk with
a 2.6 kernel. Can the kernel you use for diskless booting mount the NFS
filesystem manually if using a root FS on your harddisk? That could
help when playing with mount options.

Once you have it all fixed, you might think about contributing a
brief summary of your experiences with etherboot + wraplinux + 2.4/2.6
kernel options + NFS to the troubleshooting FAQ on http://etherboot.org/
and perhaps helping someone else in a similar situation.
