Re: meaning of buddy status colors??

All of these are defined in the prefs.  The reason why they are not 
documented is because like all preferences, you can change their 
values.  Look at Preferences -> Colors -> Buddies Window.

As for the grey buddies, this happens when they have logged off (or 
blocked or invisible) and the buddies window didn't update as it 
should.  It happens from time to time, and we are working on fixing it 
in the next version.
