Yes, groups.io hosts a number of mailing lists and this is probably the only thing they do, AFAIK. I am subscribed there to some hobbyist astronomy ml's, some radio fans, maybe some more, I am not sure. So far I do not think I got any spa,m because of that. One can subscribe via their web interface or via email, by sending email to ${GRPNAME}[email protected] (and likewise, unsubscribe by sending to ${GRPNAME}[email protected], but I have not tested this one yet). I have requested temporary login (as described on abovementioned page) and got into front page, which describes ml for radio packet hobbyists. Interesting. If you detest JS (I do), I suggest to have additional user on your machine whose only role is running browser with JS enabled.
