Irssi -> http proxy (privoxy?) -> Tor -> irc

So what is the proper way to setup irssi with tor?

At the moment I've followed directions to setup irssi to go through
privoxy -> tor however I usually get an privoxy error or a "Registration
Timed Out" error " server side.

The reason why I want to use irssi's proxy settings instead of torify is
so I can have per-server proxy settings. Some server do not allow tor so I
would say use_proxy = no. Using torify would force all servers to use Tor.

Any ideas?
