I got so fed up with certain channels that are predominantly
JOINS, PARTS, QUITS, etc., that wrote a 'sanitize' alias to clean
them up so you could actually find discussion:

/alias sanitize /scrollback levelclear -level
CLIENTCRAP,CLIENTERRORS,CLIENTNOTICE,CRAP,JOINS,MODES,PARTS,QUITS

(All one command/line, of course)

It isn't perfect, and you can lose some valuable information, but
it's better than nothing. For those high traffic channels I'll
just /sanitize them from time to time. For the most part I rely
on tab-completion to test whether or not somebody is still in the
channel. :)
