problem running np-distd

After having run np-datad, which appears successful, I run np-distd:

np-distd -u sqluser -p sqlpass -s 0

I get this error:

np-distd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb_cxx-4.1.so: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory

There is such a file in /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib/libdb_cxx-4.1.so.
