Specifically, make sure this: perl -l -MCGI -e 'print $CGI::VERSION' 2.89 Actually reports a different version number (like 2.99 specifically). This is your problem. You probably updated the CPAN module sometime in the process of building the perl modules and it installed a new copy of the CGI module which made a change that broke things.
