Hi Dave, Thanks a lot for your response. After reading your post, I used the snmpconf tool to configure the access control on the agent, following the tutorial on this page http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/tutorial-5/demon/snmpd.html#location Currently I have the following line in the snmpd.conf file to allow access for the OID * rocommunity public default .1.3.6.1.3.1.1 * However, when I execute the snmpget command, my Java program is still not being called and I get an error, although a different error to the one I got previously. * EMNETS-MIB::emnetsMIB = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID* Could you tell me if the line "*rocommunity public default .1.3.6.1.3.1.1*" is sufficient for allowing access to the OID?
