Problems with check_by_ssh and ssh2

Hello,

we just wanted to move some monitored hosts from ssh protocol 1 to 
protocol 2 and experienced the following problem:

Text result of the check (./check_by_ssh -H host -C './chech_whatever') 
is fine, but the 'STATUS' in netsaint is 'UNKNOWN', but should be 'OK'.

The netsaint server uses protocol 1 and 2. The monitored host is only 
using protocol 2.

When we change the netsaint server to protocol 2 only, it also doesn't 
work ...

I googled out, that this has been experienced before (Oct. 2000), but 
Karl didn't have the time to fix it ...

Any solutions for this so far?
We're using netsaint 0.0.7 and check_by_ssh 1.23.2.1.
