It’s time for This Week in OpenNMS. Project Updates 1.8: Current Release is 1.8.5 (Plover) 1.8.5 is the current stable release, tagged 13 October 2010. For a complete list of changes and updates, see the “New and Noteworthy” page on the OpenNMS wiki. As always, it is recommended that you back up your database before upgrading. We’re working on some new capabilities with JasperReports and access to RRD data. We’re adding support for UPS power graphs, based on a community contribution. We’ve done some infrastructure work, too – migrating v 1.9 to use Maven 3, and getting ready to switch from Bugzilla to JIRA Bugs Fixed Since Last TWiO #4151 – Fixed a problem with the netapp.fsfile report #4153 – Removed an incorrect check in the SNMP Asset Adapter code #4176 – Notifications no longer fail when notification names are longer than 63 characters Upcoming Events We’re going to be scheduling at least one training week in the US (likely in the Midwest) and one in Europe before the end of 2010. If you’d be interested in attending a training course, drop us a line and let us know. The City of Portland (Oregon) is presenting at GOSCON 2010 about their experiences using OpenNMS. Tarus Balog will be there – be sure to say hi! If you have anything to add to the events list, please let me know. Until Next Week… As always, if there’s anything you’d like me to talk about in a future TWiO, or you just have a comment or criticism that you’d like to share, don’t hesitate to say hi. -- Barry T.
